The Well Of Runescape Goodwill

Hi everyone,

Today, we are delighted to announce that we are launching a important update to RuneScape: the Well of Goodwill.

The Well of Goodwill update is a way of enabling the RuneScape community to use their in-game wealth to donate to real-world charitable causes.

Located just south of the Grand Exchange, players can donate their surplus items, gold and even Bonds into the well towards great charitable causes. For every 10 million GP value donated by players, Jagex will donate $1 of real money. For every Bond donated, we’ll pass all revenue received directly on to the charities.

Over the years we’ve privately supported a number of good causes and we thought this time round not only should we try include the community but also focus our efforts towards supporting a number of charities who efficiently and directly support disadvantaged, terminally ill or at-risk young people. While no doubt our list of charities will grow over time, we would like start with a few close to our own heart:

About Willow
Willow supports seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds by providing Cheap Runescape Gold Special Days.

During uncertain times, each unique Special Day is a positive focus away from treatment or marks recovery from illness. The planning, anticipation and excitement of the day boosts confidence, provides inspiration to make every moment count and creates lasting memories.

Recent research highlighted results from Special Days as ‘astounding’ and this year Willow will provide its 10,000th Special Day.

About SpecialEffect
SpecialEffect is an award-winning charity that helps people with disabilities benefit from the fun, rehabilitation and therapy of video games. They support people of all ages through assessments, equipment loans and equipment modifications.

About Action For Kids
Action For Kids has been helping transform the lives of young people with physical and learning disabilities across the country since 1991, through the provision of mobility equipment, learning, training and support.

For more information please visit www.actionforkids.org.

About GamesAid
GamesAid is a games-industry charity which acts as an umbrella, supporting a number of smaller charities who help disadvantaged and disabled children and young people. It is a non-trading body, administered by trustees who operate on a fixed-term basis, and is run by a chairman who is also appointed on a fixed term. As the only fully democratic charity in the games space, members of the games industry propose and vote for the charities of their choice annually. The charities who get the top number of votes then get an equal share of all the funds raised that year, proving that games and gamers can do great things for others.

About the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)
The Internet Watch Foundation is the internet hotline for anyone to report online child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world, non-photographic child sexual abuse images and criminally obscene adult content hosted in the UK.

Why are you doing this?
Generosity nourishes the soul. People who have given to good causes and seen the positive impact and good will that it creates will tell you it feels truly great to give! At Jagex, we have always been passionate about our charity work. Jagex - as a company – regularly raises funds and donates thousands of pounds to various charities each year - and that's not including the money that our talent raise alongside us, which we always match pound for pound! We've played a part in Children in Need, Red Nose Day, Movember and a myriad of other charitable events throughout the years.

However, this year we wanted to find a way to extend the act of giving to our players, providing them the freedom to support charities - if they wish - through their in-game efforts, without it necessarily impacting their pockets.

A second benefit of adding the Well of Goodwill is that it will also act as a massive gold sink for the game: something we promised with the launch of Bonds that's still needed, which will have a huge impact on improving the game's economy.

How else can I get involved?
Our Community Team will be holding a number of events throughout November, where you can show your support in-game. plus we will also be running a temporary hiscore for the biggest donators of RSGP and Bonds for you competitive types.

For more information on the Well of Goodwill, please check out the Well of Goodwill page where you can keep track with how much GP has been donated so far. Alternatively, discuss on our forums or read our FAQ.

We thank you in advance for your wonderful support and for truly making a difference.

Thank you for your generosity and support Runescape Gold.

No halloween runescape event

I am not too terribly impressed with the idea of the Lumbridge Rebuildathon (really? Rebuildathon? OK, next time a natural disaster happens in real life, be sure to denote the restoration process as a rebuildathon). Mod Mark believes that it would be better for the RS Gold game to have these more "lore" related events, but when this game began, we took our holidays and incorporated them into our lore.

Santa Claus and the Queen of Snow have a son. The Queen of Snow is particular to Runescape. Death was a Guardian of Guthix, and it only makes sense that he is somehow incorporated into the game since things happen to die. Death, as an entity, has never really even presided over the Halloween holiday in reality as a figure, such as Santa Claus, but rather exists in a more abstract kind of idea than an entity personified.

I cannot say too much about the Easter Bunny other than he exists, but with Sunny, the Queen of Sunrise as the counterpart of the Queen of Snow, they actually have an interesting plotline going there, and there is potential for the Easter Bunny to be incorporated into that -- possibly as Sunny's subordinate.

And, for April Fool's, they even made Brassica Prime nothing less than a lore official god! A cabbage head is a god! For the love of Brassica Prime, he was present at Sliske's "Grand Ascension!"

I really fail to see how Mod Mark can say that the real-life holidays do not tie into the game because we made them tie in. We incorporated them into the game and made an April Fools Joke one of our gods -- you cannot fool me and say that they no longer relate to the lore!

What would improve runescape divination

Divination too me, Was almost like a Runespan Gold. I feel like divination could use some updates and more things added too it (Maybe a mini-game or something) so my question to you all, If you could add or fix Divination... what would you do?

1) Change xp from chronicles so it's half hunter, half divination.

2) Allow us to gather 50 chronicles before handing them in.

3) Create more lore, or progressive lore rewards, for handing in your 100th, 200th, 500th chronicle etc.

4) Introduce a teleport item that will send you directly to the rifts, say like 3 times a day (getting to Dragontooth isle is a pain).

5) Give us more things to make - AKA release the other skill already. Releasing Divspan on its own feels really unfinished and sparse content.

6) More random events whilst training would be good. At the moment its just barely afkable - the springs deplete too fast to be properly afk. If you want people to pay attention, give them a reason - say the springs sometimes change colour and give more energy, or double xp, or a chance of winning a bonus to your gathering speed.

One thing that would make divination more enjoyable for me would be more training areas, I don't like staying in one place for too long, I would like the choice to move to a different area to train and still gain maximum xp for my level instead of grinding out in canifis for 10 levels I would like to have different training areas where I can gather the level 70 whisps etc.

Most recent runescape Game Update(s): Sirenic Armour

Hello and welcome to my 153rd edition of Runescape Gold Game Update Questions? If you have never visited or heard of my thread, then you are most probably wondering what this thread is all about. Well, to cut a long story short, I have volunteered to make a thread for fellow players just like you to post questions on here about the most recent game update, in hope that the developer of the update can answer as many of them as possible.

When an update is released into the game, I try my best to experience the update for myself so I have a good enough understanding of the update. This means I will be able to pick out the most important questions that people would really like a response to. Whilst this is one of the best places to ask questions in the hope they will get answered, I cannot guarantee that every question will be answered. It's up to the developer which questions get answered, after all. All you have to do is read the set of questions posted below, and if you have a question different to the one already asked, then go ahead and ask it! This thread will be made every week as soon as the update is brought out (when I'm able to that is). If you have any questions or you are stuck on what to do, don't hesitate to either ask myself on this thread or in-game if I'm on!

So without further ado, post away! Questions - Sirenic Armour 1) Why is there no Sirenic cape, boots and gloves? 2) What are the 'tentacles' seen on the back of the characters in the Sirenic armour concept art? Are they the design of a 'Sirenic cape' or details for Sirenic hauberk that weren't implemented? 3) When can we expect level 90 melee armour? 4) Sirenic Hauberk (tier 90 range chest piece armour) requires 93 crafting to make, while Ganodermic Poncho (tier 75 magic chest piece armour) requires 98 crafting to make. Will oddities like this be addressed or rearranged to make more sense? 5) Are you planning to make all the tier 90 armour unrepairable? Or does it only apply to the helm, chest and leg slots? 6) Why not add the scales to all the slayer monsters' drop tables? 7) What's the lore behind the Sirenic scales? From what monster do they come from? Questions - Other 1) Have you considered adding money sinks to existing content, such as adding taxes to the Grand Exchange? 2) Will this Solomon store sale last forever? 3) Can we have more 2-player emotes like the capoeira dance? Maybe a tango emote? 4) Are you planning to release another Runescape 2007 Gold Membership pack at the end of the year for next year? 5) Will Gold Members receive any more free items before the end of the year?

Grand runescape exchange price adjust

We all know Jagex doesn't change prices unless they absolutely need to. So far, there has only been once that Jagex changed prices for the Grand Exchange: Drygores. For some background info, Drygores were changed in price because people were coinsharing Drygores when they were really priced at much lower. As a result, lots of GP entered the Runescape Accounts game. Jagex thought it would be in the game's benefit to decrease the prices of Drygores to match. However, Jagex has blatantly ignored the prices which are much higher than their Grand Exchange value. Specifically, Siesmics. As a result, Siesmics aren't coinshared in masses, which have been a major part of high value items such as sigils entering the game. Because of the limiting factor of Grand Exchange value on Siesmics, they stay high. I would try to get Jagex's attention about this, but I know it's pretty hopeless. Back when divine and elysian were impossible to purchase on the GE for ~a year and a half, I was one of the people trying to get action taken. There was actually a sticky thread in the ID forum with its purpose being to report inaccurate GE prices, but the JMod in charge just rather bluntly told us to stop reporting the issue because it was making it difficult to see other posts. Nothing was done until free trade fixed it for them, well over a year after the sticky was first created. Vorago would see such a popularity surge if seismics were increased to their proper values that indeed it would be impossible for them to maintain their current prices. A step is taken toward equality among the combat styles and Vorago becomes a popular boss, win-win. I've been begging Jagex for more challenging combat in RS Gold for a long, long time, but I absolutely refuse to do Vorago. I'm not going to trust some random guy to split a 2.5b drop. The fact that this is still an issue after the GE has repeatedly failed to properly handle high-value items ever since its release is a joke. I'm sure Jagex can get at least one person to check buying/selling prices each day and manually adjust the price accordingly, unlike the other JMod who I still deeply resent.

Current runescape state for level 120

I know they once said they have no "current" plans of 120, but then they change their "plans" a lot anyway.

We need a statement regarding if level 120 is ever a possibility as of now.

If prestige is going to kill any chance of level 120 (which may otherwise see the light of day), a lot of people won't realize this.We need clarification on this point, even though prestige is very unlikely to pass given that most people have voted against it.

Personally, as a casual player, I generally couldn't care less about hiscores. Also, only a small handful of really crazy players got 200m xp. Level 120, on the other hand would create meaningful competition between easily 100 times as much runescape 2007 gold players.

When I first started I was like "wtf 13m xp? I got 4 burying bones!"

As a casual player, I have only achieved 1 cheap 99, but I'm 94 prayer and proud of it. It takes a good while, but it wasn't that hard.

Anyway, you go to high levels, you move to faster methods.

Listen up jagex the runescape future

So Jagex, if you really want to know where to go from here, take a look at some things you have already implemented and the past history of the game. It's really quite simple.

Let's start with the easy one. Instead of the prestige system, use the brand new seasonal hiscores you recently came out with that turned out to be a flop because you have ridiculously stupid competitions on it.

Instead, give them some real meaning by basically implementing some different versions of the prestige system as seasonal hiscores. For example, have a separate seasonal hiscore of who gains the most XP in each skill for a full year. Do the same for monthly hiscores within that year but with only a few skills each month.

You could also have a hiscore called "prestige level X" where X is a number like 2 or 3 and where for an allotted amount of time(maybe 3 months for example) it tracks what level you would be using the XP formula for the would-be prestige system. So an example would be the hiscore says "prestige level 3" and it takes triple the XP in game for each hiscore level to go up. The difference is that this ends once the seasonal competition ends.

Now, the second part of this is trickier but honestly has to be implemented at some point in the game. All skills need to go to 120.

Now don't be alarmed people, having 120 skills doesn't mean you have to go raise them. Think back to 2005 when most skills barely went past level 70 in content. That could be today's 120s. It's there if you want it, but nothing requires it. However, as time goes on with the runescape accounts game, things will EVENTUALLY fill those gaps. A 120 cape now would be as elite as a 99 was back in 2005.

The only thing Jagex would have to balance out is 120 combat skills so they aren't OP. Maybe just scale them back to 99 during current boss fights and such until new fights require post-99 levels.

Why are bonds so cheap runescape gold

So, i know this question might get some flame since im comparing bonds to the prices of RWTers, but seriously whatsup with this?

Membership is $7
A bond is $5.
2 Bonds = membership = $10
Estimated price of GP (Just to compare) = ~.30 cents
Estimated Price of a month of mems through bond = $4

It seems like jagex isnt beating the gold farmers. Theyre working together.
Its like "If runescape gold farming wont go away, lets profit from it"
People buy bonds, and people continue buying gold - and buying bonds and other game items with them. Win - Win for jagex and goldfarmers.

This IS made to fight gold farming and RWT, so i dont think discussing RWT is crossing the line. It looks like the RWTers will sell just as much GP as ever at this rate. RWTers dont sell membership, so this isn't harming them in any way

When bonds are only 6m in g/e - which a person can go break the rules and buy for like 2$, why are they still being circulated?

Buying gold illegally runs the risk of you getting punished, whereas buying it through Jagex doesn't; that difference should encourage some people to choose the latter. Gotta admit though, bonds are really cheap now and unless people are given more of a reason to buy them with gp then they probably won't have a long lasting impacting on gold farming.

Yea lol that's the problem, you only need 2 bonds a month and I think people went a bit crazy in the first week and bought a few months or even over a year's worth of membership that way so there won't be much demand for them anymore.

I wish now that when I stopped playing the main game I'd just quit and not gone and staked that half a bil lol, could have had so much membership, but this was completely unexpected.

I'm confused about runescape

What I don't understand is how is the lower the price of bonds the better? I believe 1 bond is around 3 which equates to 4-5m go.Runescape Gold farming websites sell 10m for 3. Now how is this good? Sure this would stop some people from buying off gold farming websites because they can do it legit from jagex now but for the same price you can get double your money from gold farm websites which wouldn't stop people that already buy gold.

And if the price of bonds continue to plummet how on earth is this good? Am I missing something obvious?

People use logical fallacies to prove that bonds are "working as intended".

They say that because bonds are more expensive than goldfarmers, and yet people continue to buy them for RL$, means that players are choosing to buy more expensive gold from jagex, rather than buying gold from a goldfarmer.

While this may be true in a small number of cases, the 40-50% of the population that they claim buys gold from goldfarmers will continue to do so because it is much cheaper. People will say that it is risky to do so, but ask yourself. 40-50% of the ACTIVE population buys gold from goldfarmers, and yet, they aren't getting banned.

Imagine if you were a speeder who never got caught because the police had no presence in your town. Would you slow down to the speed of other drivers who blindly obey the speed limit regardless of whether it made sense? Probably not.

Now, what i think really happened was this. That percentage of the population still buys gold from goldfarmers -- as they are still around, some boasting higher sales than ever. On top of that, now, is a percentage of people who buy gold from jagex.
The two have very little overlap, and the only thing jagex did was add itself as a member of the gold-selling game, selling to those who are willing to pay 4x the price for "safety", which essentially means jagex making empty threats about banning RWTers and making goldsellers look as corrupt as possible to deter gold buyers from going somewhere other than jagex's personal gold shop.

Things is to a degree bonds vs RWT gold do not have to line up.

For example lets say you see 2 watermelons for sale.1 for 5$ with a 1 in 10 chance of not getting the watermelon, and instead having your money taken, and a bullet to the head killing you.1 for 15$ 10$ of which goes to ensure you will get your watermelon, and no bullet holes through you as a person.Which one do you think most people will pick? There will probably all ways be gold farming...the real question is how much of it will there be? Bonds do not need to compete to be effective, they just need to be a safe alternative.

All of this of course assumes Jagex follows through on their threats and Ban people who buy GP from gold farmers though. That is the lynch pin the it rests on.
